Default 1929 Cabriolet doors

Are the doors on a 1929 Cabriolet unique to '29 only or would 1930's interchange?

My guess is the 30,s have a swage at the bottom of the door where as 29 would not.Reason i beleive this is have one of each, Hinges appear to line up , So yes they would fit but , but look wrong. I have one spare 29 here in NZ if you are desperate,

I would like someone with a 68A to confirm my belief that the '29's do have a swage at the door bottom. The Briggs & Murray bodies of '28,'29 do appear to have the same lower swage/ revels as on most '30 '31's. ?
68A's are 'rare as' down here [ there may be remains of only one] unlike the 68B of which there are a few.

basically the doors are the same they were all built by Briggs the only difference is the early 68A had a wooden panel where the window regulator mounts and the wood on the leeding edge of the door is shorter. the 68B used a metal panel to mount the window regulator to and the wood on the leading edge was longer because it went up under the metal panel. I have two differant cabriolet doors here , One has no swage on the bottom sams as a 28-29 sedan door, This is an original door, Two more which i recently purchased have the swage on the bottom just like a 1930 sedan door , So beleive that is the differance, 8 days to the nationals, Watch out for all those LHD A,s on the road ??? The Americans are here.

Yes, the doors are interchangeable but have differences as JW noted.

None of the Briggs bodies (except 180-A) had a bead along the bottom of the doors. The bead was a separate skin BELOW the door and was nailed to the floor sill wood.

The statement above does not pertain to any of the slant windshield models which were largely patterned from the Murray design but also had steel doors instead of wood framed doors.

Derek, You sure have me curious just what you have!

Yep, I said the slant windshields were the exception to the rule (and the doors are steel). You got me on the Sport Coupe!

My early 1930 68B has the wood panel at the top of the doors and no bead at the bottom of the door. The bead that is under the door mounts to the chassis wood and is in line with the bead on the cowl. BTW, my early 68B has the long style cowl band with the three mounting studs.

There is a 1929 68A for sale on ebay. I'm suprised to see that the doors have the metal in the top where the window regulators go instead of wood, I have never seen a 29 68A with the metal. I have two parts cars that I'm making 1 complete car and they both have the wood top and bottom, A friends 1930 68B also has the wood both top and bottom. The car looks origional just wondering what others thought?
