Default Fancy a ride in Richard's F1 pickup? Come on then, hop in!

Well it's time to go for a ride in Richard's F1 pickup. He fitted the French heads and got it up and running. This is one of the first drives and certainly the longest yet. Hop in and see how it goes.

That was great Mart. Truck sounds real good. Might want to put a bend in that shift lever. All that heavy traffic makes me appreciate my lonely and mostly empty gravel roads here where I can park the Merc for a photo shoot and not be interrupted.

Hey Mart, I figured after driving Richard's F-1 you'd show uo with a torch to "adjust" the shift lever. I'd be cursing that thing every time I shufted into second! Great job on that flatty!

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure I shortened the throw on my 1st to second gear on my 48 and that should take it away from the dash. You have to adjust the turnbuckle at box linkage to the box to find the shortist possible throw you can get without it jumping out of gear.

I was referring to bending the shift lever slightly inward(with heat) however, I wonder if shortening the shift rod may work?
