Mystery gauge...Speedo??
My uncle bought a parts lot about 15 years ago. Everything was supposedly early Ford. He is 86 and feels like learning how to internet is beyond him, so I told him I would ask the group on his behalf.
1. Can anyone ID this based on the picture and part number? Stewart Warner 420430 2. Is anyone on here an instrument aficionado or know of someone who is? 3. I am uploading a picture. Trying to find out what exactly this fits. There is no face. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Mystery gauge...Speedo??
Speedometer internals. You will have to find a SW parts catalog, to find the year since most of the early Fords appear identical with minor difference. Ford used speedometers made by three companies and each has slight differences also. So this will most likely only fit a SW made speedo.

Re: Mystery gauge...Speedo??
Since the part number on box highlights 42, could this be for a 1942 SW Speedo?

I had the same thought, but its just an educated guess. I found something on another page for SW motorcycle gauges that looks like they used letter codes for dates. So anybody guess so far. Appreciate the input though. Last edited by Chopped29Tudor; 09-08-2020 at 01:50 PM. |
