Has anyone ever heard of an engine rebuilder from Ohio named Duane Roach?

Re: Engine Rebuild from Ohio
Sounds like you're buying the engine from the Grenade inspector?

Re: Engine Rebuild from Ohio
When I was still searching for a model A and after reading that ad I tried to google the ellusive Mr. Roach. I thought that getting to know an A engine guru who lives close would be a good idea. No luck though.

Re: Engine Rebuild from Ohio
Sorry for the double post, but I was just talking to my powder coating guy. He knows Dwane and says that the guy is about 80 and still working on engines in Mr. Vernon, Ohio.

Re: Engine Rebuild from Ohio
I sent a deposit for that engine, but have not been able to contact Speedster since. I'm getting nervous since I'm supposed to be picking it up in a couple of weeks. Anyone know Speedster, alius Grenade inspector? If yes I need to speak with him. Thanks.

Is Dwayne Roach still in business? How to contact him about a rebuild or swap.
Thanks |

Re: Engine Rebuild from Ohio
mgft1500,
Mr. Roach was in Mt. Gilead, but has retired. I think he started rebuilding Model A engines when they were new. He has sold his business and he has said the new owner is doing well. I'm not sure who or where the new owner is but I'll try to find out today and get back. Marty |

Re: Engine Rebuild from Ohio
mgft1500,
I found it! I called Duane Roach today and he told me he sold his business to Tom Jones, of Jones Equipment. The shop is located at 403 Burrell Avenue, Freeport, Ohio 43973. The phone number is (740) 658-3862. Freeport is in the south east corner of the state near Cambridge. I called the shop and confirmed this information but was told that Jones Equipment is a tractor sales and repair shop and they do Model A engines as time permits. Their tractor customers come first. I was told that they have 4 or 5 "A" engines waiting their turn. I asked if it was alright for me to put this info on Ford Barn and was told it's O.K. Now you know everything I know. Good Luck Marty |
