Default Temperature gauge in a 1935 ford

I am trying to fix the temperature gauge in my 1935 ford. Originally I believe it contained a red liquid in a closed vessel. My gauge has liquid in it but it is clear. It is my impression that over time this red liquid became clear. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get red fluid in my vessel-and how do other people resolve this issue. Thanks for your help.

Go to a 36 electric unit. No one makes a red fluid that will not fade as far as I know.

Lawson is thinking the 35 hydrostatic fuel gauge.
36 temp gauge is the same as your 35 one. If the liquid in your temp gauge has faded to clear, it is obviously one of those Argentinean repops, the genuine Ford temp liquid never fades. Best bet is to buy a replacement gauge, there are still nos units out there, be prepared to pay!
