Default Found this turn signal on Ebay

After receiving many great suggestions on wiring my parking lights as turn signals (thank you), I bought this turn signal on Ebay! Do you ever find yourself bidding on things you really don't need, but you want to win??? The first one of these I found sold last week for $190 but this one was listed differently and not as well promoted and I won for it for $60. So I thought I did pretty well.

It came with orange, red and clear indicator inserts. I was going to mount this on the center of the front bumper to the bracket mounting screw. It would be my front turn signal and then use the brake lights for the rear. My wife says to use it in the back of the car. I don't think it would show up good on the rear, but for marital bliss maybe I'll take the suggestion!

Anyone know much about this product? It was mfg by Arrow Safety Vehicle in NJ. It is a #10.

Arrow used to be a major manufacturer of vehicle lighting... made marker lights, directional signals, etc.

I have one ore two of these... plus the clamp-on turn-signal control from the same era, neat stuff !

In Rhode Island, the older folks still refer to turn signals as "arrow lights".

I found this pair at a flea market for $10 was a good find as I was using a pair of motorcycle turn signals on the back end.

I grew up in Mt. Holly,NJ which was the location for Arrow Safety-maybe there were more? Medford is very close to Mt. Holly, and Haines is a very old name in that area. Maybe Mr. Haines worked for Arrow. I have quite a few lenses made by Arrow and I fondly remember their trucks because they were painted with "mirror" spelled out as "Mirro" on the sides.

That was a good deal - those "arrow" fender lites bring a lot more than $10 on e-bay, etc...

I'm kind of surprised no one has reproduced them for use on pre-war cars & trucks...

Thanks for the ALL the responses! Now I know mine is a 1936 invention. Thank you!

Loved the old magazine accessory "Ad" ..."stop the wig-wagging....."

Just think of all the various accessories that ended up in the scrap pile during WWII. At least the metal parts were used to fight for freedom.

I'm going to have to get something other than my left arm here in SC. I have been passed 3 times on the left after putting my arm out to make a left turn! That's in 20 miles of driving. 10 weeks after getting my '55 Chevy, making a left turn onto my street, i was broadsided as the guy behind me tried to pass on the left, on a hairpin curve, with a double yellow line...and boy was he mad, he couldn't wait for the cop to arrive and write me up. My new rear window sticker says "My last tailgater bought me this car".
