You'll be ok to use a standard 239 head gasket; big bore gaskets are for much bigger bore than .060".

Now you have a 248ci engine and more compression. Angle mill the heads .070" check piston to head clearance for another point in CR. Now you can have better gas milage as well as mor torque for climbing the hills of Vermont.. Stock iginiton and carb will work well with this setup.

A question for Ol' Ron,
The engine in my '36 coupe is a 59AB that was last rebuilt in 1960. The engine was originally built in '54 by a engine builder in Salt Lake City, who was reputedly very reliable.
The engine broke a piston in 1959 that damaged the bore in one cylinder.
The engine was rebored to .060, the damaged cylinder was sleeved, as I recall 4 ring pistons in lieu of the 3 ring in '54.
The original Weber F-1 cam was in good shape as was the Johnson lifters. The crank was standard rod/mains, it was polished and new CAD/Silver bearing were used. The valves were good, only needing lapping in, new Lincoln spring were used on the valves.
The Offy heads were junk, a stock set of 59AB heads were milled, domed and flycut to achieve a CR of 9.1 or under. The original aluminum flywheel was junk, not hard faced like it was claimed to be. A stock Ford flywheel was milled and balanced down to 15 pounds.
The intake is an Offy Super with dual 97's. ignition is a Harmon-Collins dual coil.
The machine shop that rebuilt the engine in '60 was selected to do the work because they had an excellent reputation, they built a lot of engines for the local stock car racers in lieu of drag racers.
The engine in my car has always ran very well, I use mid range fuel and Castorl GTX 20-50 oil..
Thank you in advance if you should decide to comment on the CID/HP of my engine.
Bill
