1946-1948 Flathead Oil Pressure
I have an electrical sending unit in the back of the block feeding the gauge on the dash.
Since there is another "line out" feed, next to my current sending unit, I would like to add a small mechanical gauge to live there under the hood. Anyone know what numbers I need the gauge to go up to? 60 pounds? 80 pounds? More? Less? What max pressure is normal for this year flathead? Thanks!

What does your existing gauge say ?
That should give you a guide. It would prob be wiser to use the other fitting for a by pass filter. |

I don't know about the '46-'48 cars, but factory specifications for an 8BA engine is for the relief valve to open at 57 lbs. Given this, I think an 80 lb gauge would be a better choice.
