Default Simple cars? Can be tricky when learning.

Finally got my repo headlight switch.

This car came with zilch, nothing was below the steering box, so I was new at all of this.

Spent all afternoon extending the genny and horn wires so they looked good..(RHD), and fitting the new switch.

Headlights worked first up.

No horn.

Took it all apart again, checked everything, found horn rod was not reaching sprung contact in switch.

Looked and looked, ( I did have a lot of trouble getting switch up to get bail over.)

Saw that there was a slot around at 90 degrees that looked like it would fit into the slot in the switch and allow it to go up further.

Doh.

Dunno why this was moved around, but after that the switch popped in real easy and horn works.

Easy after you figure it out once, I also bought a new bail, but found the old one tucked right back under steering box.

Now, where can I get the 1 OHM high wattage resistor for the horn to run on 12 volts?

http://www.ohmite.com/cgi-bin/showpa...uct=270_series

might sell in OZ. There might also be ready made resistors available from the usual vendors.

Keep the whole ting at six volts, it worked for Henry and still works today. Why screw up a good design?

Another option is to run two horns in series, one under each headlight. Double the ahooga.
