Same with me. It came down to having it 100% stock and not being able to drive with terrible quality available parts, or electronic ignition and flawless drivability. I like driving.

Although not really for what you are trying to do, this stock wiring diagram I worked up will show you how typical factory wiring would have been done, if converted to 12V negative ground.
