You are talking about door jamb wood, correct? There are only two skimpy pieces of wood in the actual door. Mock the door into position with the full hinges attached. Ratchet straps would do the trick. Shim the door to get even gaps all around. Then mark the body inside and out where the hinges would attach in the jamb. Keep in mind that there are two wood screws and two thru bolts in each hinge. Good luck.

...to add to what Tom says, after you mark the door hinge locations on the pillar wood, hold the door tins(cover the B pillar wood) in place to see if the holes in them match the door hinge hole marks on the wood. They should be real close.

Before fittiing the doors be sure the frame is accurate and not twisted, The hood, radiator, fenders etc should have been test fit.

Another option is to fit the door to the opening with shims, wedges, clamps, etc. Then glue the hinges to the body using "bondo". Remove hinge pins and take the door off leaving the hinge half on the body. Use the hinge as a guide to drill new holes. Knock the hinges off and clean up the mess.

This is how I did it a bit like Karl but tack welded .then I drilled one hole, it can be moved a little at that point you grind of the welds later .one I tried a return metal plate and clamped that to get initial alignment ,wood will sage a little so the door can be a little higher .Ted
