Will they fit on a 40 standard with hydraulic brakes?

Are all wide five drums the same. Will the wide five hydraulic drums work on a 37 with mechanical brakes?

David J The rear hubs that you have shown are early style open style rear 36 hubs part # 68-115-A2 and are explained on page 86 of the 1935-36 Ford Book. They use the large rear wheel bearing (B-1225-A)

If you look at march36 service bulletin it shows a cross section of that drum saying "the large bearing drum is discontinued" ---then it shows the more common one with the drum attached at the lug studs that has the sleeve for the bearing and using the small roller bearing.

36 drums are for 36, the later drums are listed 37-39 in the green book from what I remember.

David, I see those same type drums pretty often at swap meets. I have a few in my collection as well. As Don and others have already pointed out, they are covered in the '35-'36 Ford Book and in Ford literature. Some folks call these open style '35 and '36 drums 'Rocky Mountain' drums probably because they are thought to have kept brakes cooler going down hills and mountains I have them on my '35 fordor but I think I will continue to descend in a lower gear rather than depend on those open drums to keep my mechanicals cool

Brendan, that's probably because you have so many mountains there in the Santa Rosa area

Thanks all , They're on epay for sale . I just thought they looked odd . I had a 36 5w back in the 60's & it had the normal ones . Last spring I bought 3 front & 4 rear axle assy's from a guy in NE . One rear was 35 & it had the same type only in the 35 bolt pattern . Thought those were odd but a 35 guy relieved me of the entire unit so I don't have pics of them . David J
