Default Model A Sport Coupe

I recently acquired a Model A sport coupe. I Am trying to determine the year of the car. The engine # is A2154032 which should be 8-1929. If it has a different motor than original how else could I find its year? The car appears to be in good shape and we are looking forward to making it a daily driver. This will more than likely require asking more questions from all of you. Thank You.

It's kind of a hard question to answer as everything interchanges for the most part so as one thing wore out 50 plus years ago, guys would go to the wrecker and get whatever they could find that fit,as I'm sure you can imagine. There usually was a serial number stamped on the frame on the cross member under the floorboard area or on the frame under the cowl post amongst other various places (wherever the guy working that day decided to hide it) this number matched the original engine number. This site has tons of good info to help you nail down what period your car can be from

Good luck and enjoy the car

There should be a date stamped in the firewall above the steering column. This stamping would be just above the gas tank seam. 1928 and 1929 cars only.

Our 1929 Sport Coupe has an engine date of June 15, 1929 and a firewall date of June 18, 1929. Engine and frame number are the same in our car.
