corrosion on voltage reg.
What causes corrosion at the hot wire & terminal on the voltage reg.?
'41 ford 6 volt that is hot wire from the batt. Thanks

Worry about poor ground. Run a ground wire from baseplate of reg to battery ground cable end, another to generator directly. I think but am not sure that '41 gen will have a stud for the ground wire...that was added to the circuit about his year, but not sure of exact time.

When I fix a connection problem in a terminal I cut back to good wire, and either splice in a pigtail, or crimp and solder a new end on depending on how far I have to go in the search for undamaged wire. A previous repair with acid core solder can cause corrosion in wires, you need to use rosin core solder on wires. |
