Re: 12 volt starter solenoid
Ken, I used this on my 40 Ford 12V conversion. Has lasted 12 years so far.
I painted top metal part black. I used it in conjunction with a 12V hidden ignition switch, not the OEM Ford push button set up. https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Starter...UAAOSw9yldFOc3 Last edited by 19Fordy; 11-05-2019 at 02:18 PM. |

Hey Ken....Apparently the 3-terminal solenoids that LOOK like the old black Ford solenoids are becoming hard to find. All I could find in 3-pole that had a GOOD review was this COLE HERSEE 24106, this one at Amazon. DD |

Good to know that Cole Hersee makes that solenoid, They have their name on it which is a good sign. They used to mfg everything in South Boston MA, now it's Mexico. Can't beat their HD battery switch.

Re: 12 volt starter solenoid
6 or 12 v doesn't really matter to the solenoid. its amp rated

Re: 12 volt starter solenoid
Voltage CAN matter to the coil. I've run across 12v solenoids on which 6v will NOT energize the coil. DD |

Re: 12 volt starter solenoid
Since the O/P is going the other way, it should work. I have a 6 volt solenoid on my engine test stand that can use either voltage and it has performed flawlessly for several years under both voltages.
