'49 Merc Tranny
I would like to put a 351 Windsor in my '49 Merc. Is there an adaptor plate to hook this engine to the '49 tranny? if so, where? <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

If your transmission is the stock one it is the same bolt pattern as the '48 and earlier Fords and there is an adaptor available or was, but I don't have my books here to look it up. Check Dale Wilch's site he did have one on there for sale. However, if you switch to a '50-53 type you can drill the 351 bellhousing and just bolt it up. Really you could go to any of the later Ford column shift 3 speeds even up into the '70's. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
