Default More on brakes..

First of all.. I want to thank you guys for the sound advice on getting my brakes up to par. Got the Lincoln brakes from Boling brothers via Krylon32 today. Thank you Gary. Also got my rear hub puller from Vintage precision. Very well made tool. Pulled the rear drums and I have a bunch of gear oil on the shoes. I found the thread on the external axle seal but it doesn`t mention the 37 housing. Will the seal fit my housing? It is the one in the link. Also found the large part of the rear wheel cylinders facing to the rear. (I see new brake lines in my future) Any advice on the seals is appreciated. Pulling the axle tubes is not an option right now. Maybe over the winter but I need the shop for other projects right now.

Tommy ....Mac VanPelt has the two inner axle seals that you need...see BELOW! Straight from Mac VP's catalog!

B- 4245 Rear Axle Inner Seal (1928-48) - 2 required $3.00

And yes, if you are retaining the Ford Lockheed brakes in the rear (which many guys do SUCCESSFULLY), the BIG end of cylinders go FORWARD, as well as the LONG brake shoe LININGS going forward. Please keep us up to date with your brake project. Coop

Click the link BELOW to see where the "B-4245 ASSY" goes (bottom/left of drawing).
