Default Color identification??

There is a 2 door Model A for sale on -bay that I can not find the green color on paint charts. Can anyone help? The owner does not know correct name.

Just a guess, but how close does DAWN GRAY show in the color book?

I saw a 29 Tudor that looked almost hunter green and the owner called it VAGABOND GREEN.
Needless to say he was led astray, as the color was way off.

I am about to paint my 29 Tudor. Finding the correct color paint is driving me crazy!
I have the Model A official paint chip book. Looking at those colors in different light, vs looking at A's painted in those colors, vs the variables of colors the way the camera sees them and what shows up on the computer screen vs how the paint is mixed and by whom. Even A's parked side by side with different shades of the same color.
My fear is picking a color out that I like based on all the above information, then getting my A painted, to find out that it isn't what I had in mind after all the research?
Ahhh!

Be careful where you buy the paint and have it applied to test area before deciding too. I bought my paint from a seller who specializes (so they say, and I've seen their info on this site) in Model A paints. Let me tell you, the Rose Beige I bought applied NOTHING like the original Rose Beige on the firewall/dash. The color isn't objectionable but not correct either.

First two, my car in different light. The last one the correct shade of Rose Beige.

JimK, you might give Mary Carlson a call to see if she still has her late husband's 29 Tudor. Paul did a great job of restoring the car and the DAWN GRAY is beautiful. After I saw the car shortly before Paul passed away, I decided that's the color I'd like to paint my 29 Tudor. Mary lives on the south side, so she probably isn't too far from you. Mary and Paul had lifetime membership in our club, so Mary is still in the roster.

Dawn Gray?? This is truly a green color and I have seen a few this color. Dawn Gray on the paint charts does not look green. How about some more input please. Please check the web site in my first post.

One needs to see the car in person. There is another thread about colors, cameras, and computer screens. We can offer only a guess as to the model a color as it might not even be a model a color.

under no circumstances should you invest in a car's worth of paint without first buying a small quantity (1/2 pint) and doing a test shoot on something at least a foot square.

Or just brush it on. You don't need hardener and reducer to make this test, those 2 items do NOT change the paint color. Let it air dry.

I think the owner tried to match his neighbor's house for the body but failed. He did a better job matching the spare tire cover to his garage.

That pic is the color I want. Can you identify it? I've seen a few done in that color but no owner can identify - "I bought it that way" is their response.

This may not be a Model A color but I've seen it on several cars at Hershey. I also saw a 28/29 ccpu in that color. I think it looks great and would love to know what it is.
