Red Distributor
I have seen red bakelite model a distributors on some engines...are they available?

If you mean the reddish distributor body and cap they were offered years ago by an aftermarket supplier. They are hard to find these days. Some folks have claimed they are early 1928 but I believe that claim is not true.

I agree , even though most if not all of the red distributor cap bodies that I have had or seen are aftermarket made .

Could he possibly be asking about a "Mallory" distributor on an "A"? Are not some of the newer Mallory caps red/reddish plastic type?
