Question 62 ford power steering

hooked up the pwr steering from the 460 engine pump to control valve. rebuilt slave cylinder. have pwr steering one way, to the left but not to right. when I first started eng the steering went into oscillation. shut engine down and turned steering fully to right then fully to left two times. restarted eng oscillation stopped. now have steering to the left but when I try to turn to the right I have great resistance. HELP Please.

X2. I hooked one up backwards one time and the steering wheel ripped out of my hands, went to full lock, and then blew the seal out of the control valve. 2 quarts on the floor before I could shut it off.

If that isn't it, I'd be looking at a faulty control vavle. I'm assuming it's a ram system on the drag link.
