The Ford Barn

I had a Screen saver of a Model A driving down a dirt road and a steam power freight train on the tracks (dud!) coming out of the woods. I had this on my computer for two years. That is until my grandchild decided he wanted something different. I got it off the old ford barn and haven't a clue on how to find it. Can anybody out there help me. Richard/Ca

I included a photo of a neat-looking Model A "van". 'Don't know the correct name for this body style.

I'm curious about the truck in the color shot - it's an Advance Design Chevrolet, '47-'53, but it appears to have parking-lamps under the headlights, like a GMC of the same era ?
Was this a Canadian truck, or an owner/restorer up-grade ?

I love the steam trains!

Advanced Design lights - It was an add on for turn signals, the lights in the grill are single bulb and for parking only. The parking lights can be converted to two seperate bulbs, or one two filament bulb.

I have '53 3100 for hauling my Model A parts to the sandblaster and home again.

I'm used to seeing the two-sided Signal-Stats up on top of the fenders...

To me, the AD Chevy is THE "old pick-up"; seems like every neighborhood / farm had at least one when I was growing-up (1970's ), including my Grandad's '54 3600 3/4ton, which is now mine.

Now, if only Dad had hung-on to his '49 Studebaker 1/2ton...

Richard, you can do just that if you ever get to the San Diego area. There is an old railway museum about 30 minutes east of San Diego city.

Richard, You might be able to get some nice pics alongside the Skunk train in Fort Bragg. Beautiful ride through the redwoods to Willits too!

I was really having a hard time choosing between the black & white one and the colored one I am using now. Both are great picture. My dad had an old 49 or 50 Chevy pick up. I am sure it was a 1/2 ton boy did we haul a lot more then a 1/2 ton in it. It had the foot starter on the floor board and the( battery was under the floor) also. Does that sound right. Use to love driving it. Richard/Ca

WOW! I am having a hard time keeping up with the replys but it fun trying. Russ/40 I wish my coupe could make it to San Diego. I think I would try Fort Bragg first it's a couple of hundred miles closer to Manteca. My wife was trying to think of some place to go before this summer is gone. The trouble would be trying to talk her into riding that far in the coupe. Richard
