Re: Fan belt for f-1 with shroud
Don't ditch the shroud. Henry put it there for a reason!! As you've noticed, it makes the fan much more efficient.

Re: Fan belt for f-1 with shroud
The excerpt from the parts catalog shows the lower cushion but the other is the seat for the cushion. The Cushion may be listed on the previous page for part series 6038.

Re: Fan belt for f-1 with shroud
I will probably end up putting it back on at some point. My new motor runs at a consistent 180*, but I haven't really put a lot of miles on it, least of which in hot weather.

Re: Fan belt for f-1 with shroud
Thought I'd add to this again. I'm having the same problem, I got the part from OReillys (NAPA sells the same one) but I need maybe 1/2 to 1 inch more at the most (and have room to move the fan up or down by that much). I'm thinking it is my motor mounts, which I will probably replace at some point because I think I need to replace a water pump (and might as well do both and mounts).
Anyway, i'm going to look for a longer one right now, maybe at tractor supply as mentioned... or online. |

Re: Fan belt for f-1 with shroud
It's easier and cheaper to slip a couple of oversized washers under the motormounts.
The rubber biscuits collapse/crush over time. |
