Default Hidden Carpet Snap Installation

What tool do you need to install the hidden carpet snaps shown below.

I imagine some needle-nose pliers would work. But where did you find repros of that style snap? I need some, and I have never seen them for sale. The kind I have seen are two-piece: a spiked ring goes on top of the carpet, and the spikes go through the carpet and through slots in the bottom piece.

Doug, Try looking at a Marine Supply House. Those Snaps look like Brass and Brass is used a lot in the Marine Industry. Just a thought. Don

Joop I have never seen anyone making original type, bratton`s and A&L have the replacements,on them I use a block of wood under the carpet drive the ring down into the carpet turn over put the other part on and bend over the prongs

Now I'm really confused. Joop's photo shows a snap with eight prongs!

I saw them in their flyer. The little drawing seems to show seven prongs. But in any case, I'll definitely get some of theirs. Too bad I did not realize they carried them when I stopped by their spot at Hershey.

The S/W rear carpets use a similar style snap, but with a male prong that snaps into a hole in the floorpan. I haven't seen anybody selling anything remotely similar...
