Seat upholstery material used??
Hey guys see I told ya didn't take long for me to have another problem, I am getting ready to upholster my seats in my 29 tudor I have a kit from Lee Chatterton, a good kit, have all the panels and headliner done starting the seats my question is: my restorer books say to use burlap on the springs before putting down cotton. The hardware stores in my area just don't carry burlap anymore well I can't believe that!!! I haven't heard of it being sold for years, most guys in hardware stores nowadays don't know what it is... so what is the next best thing to use? any suggestions? Thanks in advance Robert DeBord.

I'm at the same point as you with the same Lee Chatterton kit for my '31 right now. Just went up to the fabric store and got some burlap. All I need now is to find some reasonably priced hog ring pliers I'm only going to use once.

Re: Seat upholstery material used??
Fabric shops often times carry burlap and as stated garden centers use burlap as well. Frankly I prefer cheap loop pile atuo carpet. The main function of the burlap is to keep the foam padding from falling through the springs. In time the burlap will wear out and fall through the anyway. Do yourself a favor and step up and buy a proper pair of hog ring pliers. even if you use them once the job will go much faster and for the novice, safer too. In other words would you rather stain a deck with a one inch brush ...........or a roller.

Look for some older good ones, the cheap ones are not worth the money and you will be dissapointed with the results. Threw the ones that came with my kit away.
