wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
Who makes quality wheel cylinders for 40-48 Ford brakes? I have tried Speedway with poor quality. Thanks for comments.

Re: wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
Here's an old, old thread. Seems like USA made are rare.

Re: wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
I got wheel cylinders for my '51 and '81 Fairmont from NAPA and the quality was good. They were made in China but, didn't have that cheap Chinese look.

Re: wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
The last ones I bought from Rockauto were perfectly serviceable. Master cylinder and flexible hoses too.

I noticed one leaking and replaced them with one's from Rock Auto as well. The box said AC Delco on it, they work fine |

Re: wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
Did a complete brake redo on my '47. Got a new MC,wheel cylinders and hoses from Mac VP. Everything worked and fit perfectly. And, Mac stands behind his parts and is a pleasure to deal with. Just my humble opinion!!

Re: wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
The problem with "off shore" parts is that the manufacturers were often just furnished a diagram. They didn't have a clue what they were making, so mistakes are common in fit and finish. We have seen them sold in bogus copies of USA boxes. We buy ours from NAPA or C&G.

Re: wheel cylinders for hydraulic brakes
Not sure how common it is, but the Rock Auto ones I have received are old stock U.S. made cylinders!
