Not all Model As but....
The timing of this may not be the best in light of the California fires but I had to share it.

Disgusting. It'd be fun to take people from that era & show them a post apocalyptic movie of more modern make, only edited to look like a documentary, and tell them
"This, is what happens when you waste anything."

Re: Not all Model As but....
Shameful indeed but not much different from what happens today. I stand to be corrected but I think it was in the 1960s that England did similar with old cars. End of life disposal has been on the agenda here lately too and I have no problem with the disposal of most of the modern cars that could never be restored. Those of greater interest could still be saved for future generations so long as they can get fuel.

Re: Not all Model As but....
Kind of reminds me of watching my uncles when I was a kid.Scrap cars had to be burned to get money for them. They would get them ready, line up 3 or 4,and light them off. Then they would stand around and drink beer until they were cooked. That's when I learned gas tanks burn fast, not explode like in the movies. A yard I worked at in the mid-70's was still burning cars in the early 70's.They got done doing that just before I went to work there.

Obama's cash for clunkers was basically the same thing. Caused a major disruption in the supply chain of used vehicles for the people who can't afford to buy new.
