Default 47 ford rear brake hubs

On going problem rear brake drums. I bought new rear drums and had used hubs. The kind that mount on the outside of the drums. the drums with the hubs installed would not fit over the new shoes. I had to sand a lot of lining to make the drums fit still a little tight. i did not want to machine new drums. After all this i found the new wheel studs where not tight enough in the hubs. I think the holes may have being damaged by how the studs were removed. I picked up two used drums with outside hubs intact. 2 problems. 1 The drums are the same and are the bearings. The seals are different. One hub measures 3 1/2" across the outside bearing. the other is 3 1/4". Did Ford make to different sizes or is one possible a pick up. Will both kinds work on a car. They seem to fit. 2 What is the right way to remove the studs without damaging the stud holes. Seems like a minor problem growing bigger. Thats for any assistance.
