Default valve length

The good book tells me valve length is 49-50 4.75" I find all my valves are 4.8+++ or more. Whats up??? Thanks Bill

Jim Leis sent me a drawing and he had the dimension length of 4.8210" for the '49-'50 with part numer 8BA 6505-A.

The 49-50 valve is a little longer than the 51-51 valve with the rotor assembley. I can give you the length of both those valve tomorrow if you need them. I have the spec out in the shop. Walt

Thanks for the offer Walt, but I don't think it is necessary. But that does bring up another question. Can the 51-53 valves be used to replace the 49-50 without the rotater assy as long as they are not mixed. I have a pile of nice 51-53 I would like to use up but not interested in the rotating parts.
