Default First Start up question

Hey guys,

I am working toward getting my flathead running for the first time in several years.

I have it turning over with the plugs out and everything seems to be fine.

The cooling system has been sitting dry for a while. Is there something I should do to flush the engine out while I have the radiator off before cranking it for the first time?

Make sure you have oil in the cylinders before turning it over again. I would throughly flush out the block before putting the radiator back inn.

It would be prudent to flush the block (if) the openings had been left open to varmits. If they were blocked and clean before storage, I wouldn't bother.

I had oil in the cylinders and I changed the oil before turning it over.

What is the best way to flush it?

Put a water hose in the top and let it come out the bottom?

Use a pressure washer if you have one. Go in top then bottom or vice versa.
