Default Now I am adjusting the lifters 59AB

I am thinking that when doing the right bank, if the first valve is open then the eighth valve has the lifter against the heal of the cam so adjust it. 2nd valve open then adjust he 7th lifter. 3rd valve open then adjust 6th. Etc etc.

Do the same on the left bank.

What you think

I found an easy and accurate waY to do them is,turn the engine until the valve your working on is fully open, then turn the crankshaft one turn,do this for each valve,a bit longer but nice and accurate.

Is that not the same as me cus on each bank aren't the front and back cylinder 180 out and the middle two 180 out.

You can accomplish setting the valves by simply following the firing order. As each cylinder is in the "firing" position you set the valves on that cylinder.

Turn the unit 90* and set the next "firing" cylinder, etc, etc. Two full turns of the crank should be good to go for all 16 valves!

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Here is a tip if you choose this method. While rotating the crank just go back and spot-check ANY other "already adjusted" cylinders to make certain there has been no change. If so (you're only looking for any looser ones) reset that particular one at that moment. We do all our units this way, never an issue to date.

I have only worked on bangers in the past. I was a little confused for a while. This last post clears it up. Thanks

I did mine last night. I used what goesfast said and followed the firing order. Super easy. I marked the crank each 90 degrees but not sure that was really needed. Now I'm gonna re-check them after reading this post.
