Default Repro rearview mirror from Mike's is spot on.

Just received the repro rearview mirror for the Tudor from Mike's A-Fordable. It is very difficult to tell it apart from the original! The repro glass is smoother (the original has the slightest hint of "waviness" to the glass), and just barely thicker than the original, but the edge and color and reflectability are exactly the same. Wow!

Nice to see reproduction parts that are actual reproductions, and not just barely "good enough". Well done, Mike!

I read this the other day and am just now responding but if this is indeed true, that is good. All the reproduction mirror glass most of us have seen is indeed distinguishable from originals. When you say it is "just barely thicker", it sounds like it is not an actual reproduction but more of "barely good enough". What am I missing?

I should have actually said "just barely wider". Poor choice of words. The thickness of the original is 0.022" and the repro is 0.021". The repro is about 1/8" wider.

I see what you are saying, it is a far better part than alot of the "reproduction" parts made. If the mirror size is truly the only thing wrong, as compared to an original, is the size of the glass maybe a call to Mike's can get the manufacturer to decrease the size?

The repro is a tad narrower, so the call should be to increase the width slightly is all. The edge detail is absolutely perfect.
