I need a brand new stock carburetor. Who makes the best and the best place to purchase. I live in Rhode Island if there is a good place to purchase old school, face to face.

While I have you, any good mechanics to install it in Rhode Island?

If you want a new carburetor, the best you will find is from Dennis Carpenter Ford Parts https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/car...buretor-94-p65. They are not inexpensive. You should be able to swap out a carburetor by yourself - there is not much to it.

Another option is to have your existing carburetor rebuilt by Charley Schwendler in Orchard Park, NY - he is an expert on these carbs. [email protected] (716) 440-8952 OR (716) 662-9159.

I had a new carb installed a DC type but from Chucks Trucks LLC in CT. It runs great. The old one got progressively worse and worse every time it went to the rebuilder. Never tried Charlie but I might with another one I have. But can't beat the new ones for reliability and they look exactly like the originals sitting there under the Oil Bath.

Might want to start with which engine you have. 53 Fords were made with a strait 6 or flathead V8. Those engines used different carbs.

Good point. I don't think China has copied and screwed up the Holley 1904 one barrel carb for the 6 cyl. yet .
