Default more 1940 sway bar questions

Can anyone confirm which swivel bracket (01A-3533/4) is a right hand and which is a left hand. I am not sure if the ones I am replacing were installed correctly. Also can you tell me if the flats on the stud they attach to are to be installed horizontal and vertical or at a 45 degree angle?

The photo is of 01A-3533 placed on the right side and it looks like the stud flats needs to at 45 degree, but I am guessing. When I took it apart this one was on the left side but it didn't look like any photos I saw on the forum. The bracket faced up rather than forward.

Thank you

The spring perch bores in the axle lean in at the top. The angle on the stud bore is angled relative to the pin shaft so it cancels out the inward lean of the axle bore. To put it another way, the stud bore should end up parallel to the ground.

The positioning of the flats on the pin are not important because it needs to be able to rotate when the car is moving. It is tight, but will rotate.

Mart.

33=RH, 34=LH A internal tooth star washer goes into the depressions on each swivel mount.

P9150011.jpgThe pin & bushing (or sleeve) needs to be a press fit into your repaired hole in the perch pin. Then like Mart says the pin will turn with resistance. The swivel must need some movement as the suspension moves. Here's some pics of mine.
