Great spray can in black
I bought a can of this paint and it is awesome.
I painted the carb (it is fuel proof), splash shields and other stuff. The black is probably the deepest black that I have seen in a spray can. It sprays well and had a great shine. $7.99. |

If it performs anything like other aerosols, any part exposed to the sun will soon go cloudy and powdery. Maybe this one is different but I'm not holding my breath

Re: Great spray can in black
I agree the paint is great and have use it on a lot of carburetors. Trouble is I have been trying to get it without success for a couple of months now. Did you get yours from Hobby Town?

This company use to offer a dull version of this product with the stock number ending one digit off. They discontinued it for some reason. I liked it better for a Zenith. Tom Endy |

Tom, Plastikote has a Hot Rod Black Lacquer. That looks good and holds up well on Zenith's.. |

Re: Great spray can in black
As Vince said this product has been well documented on the barn as a great fuel proof paint. I use it exclusively when rebuilding Zenith carbs. I have also used epoxy paint but it does not hold up nearly as well especially with dripping carbs.

Re: Great spray can in black
I went to Hobby Town looking for Lustrekote....they had all colors except black, said they couldn't get it in black from their supplier.
I searched on the web and found that Home Depot carries fuel resistant spray paint made by Rust-oleum. I painted two carbs with it and it really looks swell. |

Re: Great spray can in black
Ace Hardware sells a spray gloss Lacquer and I have used it on Zenith carbs and it resists gasoline. I like the fact that it dries within minutes. Good stuff. It's under the Ace label of spray paints.
