Looking for Samples of Canadian Colours
I have been working with another Canadian member for the last 7 years trying to find samples of the 12 Canadian Colours.
So far we found the following. Evergreen Richelieu Blue (One example and Ford Service bulletin) Mount Vernon Green ( 3 samples) Henna Red Cameo Cream ( A pinstripe colour) Classic Blue ( 2 examples) Colours we only have names for. Pelican Grey Mandalay Green Carmine Red Nankeen Brown Mist Grey Babbit Metal This has been alot of work to get this far in 7 years. Any help would be apprieciated. All of the Ford of Canada Records where lost in a fire in the Archives in the 70's. Thanks Again. JP "The Old Tinbasher" |

Re: Looking for Samples of Canadian Colours
Try to find formulas in paint company records - that sold to body shops for repairs. Are the colors the same as US Ford colors but with different names. By the 50s Ford was using the same paint formulas in multiple years but with a new name. Mercury was also using the same colors with different names.

Re: Looking for Samples of Canadian Colours
Thanks for the input. I will check through my colour books and on line. That's how I found the Cameo Cream. Cadillac used the colour in 1941. It matched up to the original pinstripe we had on a panel. Now thats a GM colour, Butternut Yellow.
