Default 1932 Spreader Bar Hardware

Putting together a '32 Roadster from scratch.
Can anyone tell me what the Bolt, Nut, Washer size and setup is for both the front and rear Spreader Bars?

If you're doing a "restoration" type of build, you need to acquaint yourself with Roy Nacewicz. http://www.fordscript.com/ford_bolts/products.html Roy has the a beautiful assortment of all the early Ford fasteners, all exactly as the factory parts. If you're just putting a car together, 7/16-20 (fine threads) are what you want.

The CD has these features:
* Printable - Print only the pages you need.
* Searchable - Search the entire manual in seconds.

The so-called Green Bible is virtually worthless when it comes to the correct fasteners for a car that was produced 16 years before that catalogue was published.

As indicated above, Roy has the bolts and the hands-knowledge to address your specific question.

Yes. Your starting point should be the listings in one of the '32 catalogs, though they are not 100% complete.
A few bolts and such are Ford specials with Ford part numbers. Most are "standard parts", common hardware, and are listed with numbers like 33846-S2.
One of the fasteners you need, for instance, is a special stud with Ford number plus a matching set of nuts and washers with standard numbers...the standard numbers then decode by size, threads, and finish in the proper list at back of book. As already noted, though this gives you sizes, you neeed Nacewicz or original stuff because shapes and thicknesses of features have changed a LOT.
Other specialized hardware, mostly body and interior widgets, turns up in the ratther rare hardware and trim catalog...all sorts of hinges, clips, springs.

Glad to hear you're finding the book to be useful. Needless to say, the stuff in it took a awhile to acquire, but it's great to be able to share it with those who may not even be aware of its existence.

Every day...scroll up a few lines right now! There are '32 questions on here that would be answered MUCH mor thoroughly from that book than from anything that could be posted online...and the reprinted material in there is getting to be nearly unfindable in its original form. Any '32 owner whose car is stock or is still flathead and Ford based who does not have the book is working in the dark!

Next...V8 club needs to publish another volume containing all of Cole's Model 18 notes columns...

One of my friends and I pooled our heaps of old V8 club magazines and xeroxed a couple of sets of what I think was a complete set of Cole's "Model 18 notes"...that was a job, and I still haven't collated the heap of paper, but that is another gold mine of detailed '32 info that needs to be published! Running down a set of originals is getting harder and harder.
