Default Narrow Bed Pickup Box question

Was there a larger chain link coming off the chain link bracket followed by the smaller chain OR was there the smaller link coming off the bracket?

Thanks.

I think even my 48 has the same setup as the A's, the longer link has to fold over and acts as part of the latching. It folds over and the hook goes in the eye.

And put the hook in from the bottom up not the top down. That way it won't bounce out.

The "ears" on the upper corners have holes where the chains hook to support the gate when it's down. When it's closed, the larger links go over the ears, then the hooks go in the holes to latch the gate.
