Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
Is there a source for these or do I have to make them?

Re: Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
Could that "wedge" shape be part of the cross member.

Re: Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
Might want to check with Third Gen. on these. Roy N. carried them years ago with part number R-933. $5.00 for a pair.

Re: Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
Just curious:
What purpose does that wedge spacer serve? |

Re: Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
Most 32 Fords from the factory used the wedge spacer on the back body mount bolt between the frame and body. At the thick part they were a tick over 3/8th, (just guessing) Over the years most of them were lost when the body was removed from the frame and washers substituted. I have made some spacers in the past but a factory mfg one would be great. I never knew they existed until i was at Dave Crouse's garage and he showed me a 5 window that had never been disassembled, it had the spacer.

Re: Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
JayChicago,
the spacer made the connection of the body bolt perpendicular, so direct pressure was applied to hold the body to the frame. |

Thanks. Now that you explain it, it seems so obvious. |

Re: Wedged shaped body bolt spacer
One inch of 4" channel iron will give you 2 of them. Drill the holes then cut them off.
