Default retractable or non seatbelts?

Hi All,

I want to install 3 pt. seat belts up front in my wagon. What are people using retractable ones or non retractable ones? Can people please post pics and may dimensions for welding in the plates.

Thanks,

Mike

I always use retractable seat belts because non-retractable belts tend to fall out of the door openning when you get out. If they hit a painted surface, chippy, chippy!

If you haven't bought the belts yet, Juliano's in Ct sells 3 point belts with instructions and a kit Might even have a video ????

I have 3-point retractable belts in my car, from Wesco. I bolted in their plates for the top mount in the B pillars.

I had to go with other bolts for the top, the ones that came with the set were too short with the garnish moldings installed. I used a grade-8 bolt and had to fab up a pair of spacers so they fit like the too-short ones.

Take a look at this post in my blog series... I have a 1955 Ford Club Sedan and did install a set of 3 point's from Juliano's. The post is rather long as it covers more than the seat belt installation. If I recall correctly, Juliano's may have an article on their website that describes the installation of one of their seat belt kits in a 1956 wagon.
