My apologies, as the '33-'34 cases have notches in their bell housing lips to clear the steady rods which are absent on the lips of the '32 cases.

’33-34 has the notches on the sides. ‘33-34 will work for ‘32, but not the other way round.

Apology accepted DavidG, I know you are a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate your contributions. In fact, I have been meaning to ask you about ‘32 shift levers as there are a bunch of variations and I don’t have a good handle on them. If I start a new thread on this would you be willing to participate?

Best wishes,
Will Kimble

Being stuck here at work (hence the quick lazy question) and not by "the books"......Are the 4Cyl steady rods the same 32-34?

Robert,

The '33-'34 version is very different, both in length and in their configuration where they attach to the center cross member.

Will,

Let's give '32 shift levers a try. I am aware of four different original versions.

Robert,

The first photo below shows the typical mid-year and late '32 four and V8 steady rods and the second photo shows the '33-'34 rods. In both instances the rods with the longer threaded section are the four-cylinder versions.

Handy information from Will Kimble pointing out the Notches on either side of the 1933-1934 Ford 4 Cylinder Transmission Case as you can see in this photo.
