Default Recommendations for Wheel Adapters 5x4.5 to 1936 wide 5

Hi,

Any good recommendations for wheel adapters so I can run my fancy shmancy spoke wheels for a a few days when I want to? give the old slotted mags a rest for a bit?

Thanx!

I bought one, only one adapter, for the purpsose of balancing tires at a tire shop from Speedway many years ago. It's built heavy. Obviously for the aforementioned reason I have never put it on a car.

The same question has been asked on the HAMB and there was a response with a source for what you are looking for.

The common adapters are for circle track racing and use 5/8" lug studs. In the past there were the correct adapters made with 1/2" studs. Newc

I'm confused again ! You mention 36, which is wide fives, but then talk about wires, and slotted mags, neither of which are wide 5's . Whats the plan again?

Swap the drums to the bolt pattern you want.

He has 4 3/4 pattern drums now so late model suspension. Have someone draw up the parts and have them lazer cut. I can’t imagine an off the shelf adapter is available.

That would be my suggestion as well, and thats what I plan to do on my '35 traditional fenderless hotrod, swap drums to suit wheels/bolt patterns. But then I would only be switching between 5 on 5-1/2" and '36 to '39 wide 5 drums and wheels. I have no interest in any other bolt patterns.
