Tonneau covers for 48-50 f-1’s
I have seen some nicely fabricated tonneau covers on some truck beds over the years but I never paid much attention. Now I can see the merits of having some sort of cover on the bed to keep incidental cargo out of sight while not attended. I did a search here but nothing came up. Can anyone help point me towards the right direction? Thanks, Bergie.

Check with LMC Truck. They probably have info.

Thanks TJ. I did go to LMC site and they did have Velcro cover but it specifically says it fits 51-56 Flareside only. I will try calling them during the week. I don’t know what the difference between a 51-56 Flareside bed and my ‘50 f1 bed might be.

Bergie, I made several over the years . Take a sheet of half inch plywood cut it to fit as desired , frame it underneath with two by four , add two by four legs in each corner of this frame the height you want and cover it with black vinyl. I put a scrap of carpet on the bottom of each leg so the don't scuff or rattle . They don't way anything and can be removed with less fuss then a tonnueau. On the 51 and later beds you have to at about one and a half inches to get the with right. There are many simple upgrades you can do to upgrade this simple black table such as hinge it at any point(front , side or half way back or even a 70/30 as I did in my 36 . Tim

In the old days we went to the local upholstery shop and had him make a top out of heavy vinyl with snaps. I had several done that way. I just made a couple cross bows to help him out. I would think today they would use Velcro in place of snaps?

Also try a company called Snug Top. They offer a variety of bed covers and have been around for a long time.

If your '50 was made late in the year, it will be the same as a '51. The 48 - mid-50 beds had raised panels on the bedsides, the late-50 thru '52 beds have flat sides. The tailgates also have minor differences between the two.

It used to be Truxedo offered a spot on their web to have them make a custom cover, I did it on my 47 pickup. I haven't looked lately, I think they are still in business. Just a thought.
