Default 33 brakes

I had recently fixed all the brake operating links on the 33, new King pins and bushes etc.
On a short drive I find the brakes are not as good as I expected.
So , I strip the fronts down again, and find the shoes are not concentric with the drums.
I get another set of shoes and reline them with the woven linings,
Checking my drum diameter I find them .100 over size, but in good condition.
I looked out my pile of spare front drums from WAY under the bench, sort them out and find to my amazement, a set that are in really good condition BUT best of all only .005 over size.
These I fitted with new bearings and set the shoes up using my Ford service tool for the job,
It took a little bit of fiddling to get them right. but tomorrow I will go for a drive and see.

Hi Lawrie,
I hope you get the 33 doing well on the brakes.

Yes friends.
Just repacking the wheel bearings, then a coffee then off for a drive to see,But I feel confident, the service tool sure makes it a more confident job.
