Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
Finally found a true Clayborn in an estate sale, but it has a 37 engine in it and I only want the stand- so we'll see. But they are out there. Nice to see. If I get it you will get to check it out. Newc

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
I have wanted one of those for a long time. About a year ago there was one advertised locally but it was missing the adapters, or I would have bought it. It probably wouldn't be too hard to make them, but I already have too many unfinished projects. I have two KRW stands. Both were missing their bases. I drilled the concrete and bolted one down. The other one I made my own custom base.

These are awesome. I have 2 KRW stands and 2 Clayborne stands. I much prefer the Clayborne.

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
I really wish someone would either reproduce these or make the mounting rings and hardware since the stand can be made at from angle iron.

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
Can someone show what the flywheel side attachment is? What are the pieces alongside where the exhaust manifolds go? The rings look like pipe cuttoffs to me. I like how secure and stable these things look.

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
Here flywheel side. Nothing attaches to exhaust. The front ring appears forged with two brackets welded to it.

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
Maybe it's my imagination, but the stand with the blue engine appears to have a black bracket for mounting the starter?

That's the oil pan, and yes the starter does mount there on that series of flathead. Terry

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
Get it. I have four of them and three KR Wilson stands. None better for working on or just storing a Flathead.

Re: Found a true Clayborn eng stand, but
It would not be impossible to duplicate. Way better than the Chinacrapppy one that I have.
