1948 Convertible Top Motor
I am converting my 1948 Ford convertible to 12 volts. One final issue is the convertible top motor. I spoke with an automotive electrical outfit and they can rewind the field coils and get me were I want to be but I was wondering if anybody knows if a later motor from 1956 or later would interchange. That might be a less costly route to take.
Thanks Jeff |

Re: 1948 Convertible Top Motor
the last one i built i put a late mustang top motor under the back seat and plumed it in it worked great real easy to do and cheap ,elect.switch simple and leave the old motor on the fire wall , it will also work on 12 volts ,

Re: 1948 Convertible Top Motor
I did the same as Gerrold about 20 years ago. Works fine all these years. Get the aswitch out of the same car. Mine mounts in the same spot as stock - under the dash
