I'm pretty certain that is not a Hexagon Tool intake. I've had two (still have one of them). Neither looked like that.

OK, here are two pictures. Top showing an Hexagon Tool design. You can see the carbs are mount 180 reverse to accomodate for the FWD set up on Miller Indy cars.

The bottom is how 95% of all other carbs. mount on a intake. It is a Harrell intake for the record.

So what does this mean? Your's is more than likely not a Hexagon Tool.

If Harrell, believe was made in Los Angeles. At least I've seen heads marked Harrell Los Angeles.

First, Thanks to all for your responses, but still searching. My guess is that this was designed to run a primary and secondary carb progressly. Also I was in hopes that the vacuum port locations and the reliefs cut between the ports would be a clue as to manufacturer as I haven't seen this before.
Thanks, Grady

The 2 vac ports with cuts joining the runners below them were used exactly that way on stock Fords, mid-1930's through about '39. Closest manifolds I have seen to that, but without forward carb pad, were 1930's ones made for Fords using really big generators, possibly ambulance or emergency vehicles...I think whoever made this may have started with molds from something like that!

That was my first thought...but we have one of those bus intakes for the big Bosch generator and it looks completely different. The one above may be based on something similar though?

My memory is probably very poor; but, in 1941 Ford had a "Police Special" engine. It had aluminum heads with about four fins, Ford script and a two carb intake with Chandler 94s mounted.

Could this intake that mounts the carbs backwards be one of these 1941 intakes? I don't know---but I got the same intake recently in a batch of parts.

Did you ever find out more about this intake?
Thanks, Eddie
