Best Car Cover
We recently sold our house, with my favorite part being the 3.5 car garage. The home we're going into has a large barn, but currently unstable so I have to invest in getting it back in shape before I bring in the toys. In the meantime, I don't want my 1930 out in the rain/elements. What is one of the better/best recommendations for a weathertight/watertight car cover for her, and where would you recommend?

Re: Best Car Cover
BTW - going from the one to other - thought I'd include pics. The barn is about 24'x53' so once stabilized - maybe more room for toys (but I won't let the Mrs. know that part).

Re: Best Car Cover
You'll probably get those who will tell you the pitfalls of car covers and not to use them, etc. But everything I've ever heard was that California Car Cover is the only one to use. Others will have different thoughts.

Re: Best Car Cover
Nice barn. Just needs something like this over the door.

Re: Best Car Cover
yep...California Car Cover is the place to go.
Check out their site; they custom fit all body styles to match your weather requirements, mirrors, etc. They are worth the price...I had one develop a small tear after 2 years and they just checked my original order and sent me a new one...no charge. |

Re: Best Car Cover
No car cover that I know of is watertight. So, don't expect it. My choice for clean dry storage would be something like this:

Re: Best Car Cover
I have had both Covercraft and Cal Car Cover. Both are good. I prefer my SunBrella® Covercraft for the fit on my Town Sedan that has both a trunk and spare tire on the back. We don't get much rain in SoCal tho

Re: Best Car Cover
How long for the work? If it only going to be 6 weeks, then take it to your Dad's house, or let it sit out. If you act like you have provisions for storage, your contractor will take all the time in the world.

Re: Best Car Cover
If you have something worth anything a car cover isn’t enough. The shelter logic combined with a California car cover is the way to go in my opinion until you get a building. Moisture coming up through the ground will rust and or corrode your stuff. Put a moisture barrier down like a tarp..the camoflage looking one looks better than an ugly blue one but what’s more important looks or your car?
