Default Kick panel trim

How is the kick panel trim or edge binding finished at the dash rail? This is for my 31 Victoria. My kick panels have about five inches of binding at the top that looks like it should go between the body and dash rail. Is that correct and what about the end? Thanks, Art

The edging material at the top of the kick panel should extend up between the dash rail and "A" Pillar.
