Re: Traded my '40 off today
Yikes...is that a telephone pole I see growing out of the driver's seat? Ya gotta remember that the frame on those things was nothing but a big "X", with no side rails. Nothing but a little sheet metal to stop a phone pole slicing through one of those things 'til the pole hits the intersection of that 'X'! UGLY!! And YEAH, you need to hang-on to the coupe!!! DD

Re: Traded my '40 off today
X died after '64 model yr........409 stormed the scene in late '61......we made 100% of
the 348's and 409's at Tonawanda Engine Plant near Buffalo , N.Y. I'm proud to say in those years Tonawanda was the worlds largest engine plant. We clipped Fiat by 10,000 per month. Charlie ny |

Re: Traded my '40 off today
DD, thanks for Enlarging the pic...
That is one nasty dent. The driver must have been skidding sideways at about a 100 MPH to tear that big ol' C2$^y in half like that. .
