1931 Model A Victoria Leatherback
I am about to install the new leather roof on my early 1931 Vicky and I can not find out what the front roof moulding looks like or where I can purchase it. I have what I think is the original, it is a 2 piece moulding 5/8 in. wide and seems to fit but the ends are rusted off and can not be reused. I beleve there should also be a clip that goes between the rain gutter and the moulding and also a clip that goes from the rear of the rain gutter to the hidem that goes around the back. I am hoping that someone knows what these items look like and where I can purchase them.

You might try the Victoria Association, I bet they have a tech article on it. I have a late 31, it had a thin Hartzcloth top with a metal strip across the front of the top. The Ford Service Bulletin has some original photos of a Vicky top replacement, check those out too. My new top has a hidem strip with arrow metal fasteners at the end. Let me know if you want some pix, I will be home by the end of next week.
Good luck - Joe |

I know that the moulding is a metal moulding not a hidem and I am almost positive that there should be a metal clip that joins the front metal moulding to the drip rail.

Re: 1931 Model A Victoria Leatherback
There seems to be two for the leather back according to the guidelines,
Style F3,5/8" FRONT ALUMINUM 190-A (to 3/31) and Style F5 5/8" FRONT ALUMINUM 190-A (after 2/31) including the steel back. The trouble seems to be in the size. The F3 in the catalogs show the correct 5/8" but the F5 seems to sold in 1/2 inch only. (at least that is what Bratton,s has.)

The F5 moulding (A-163245-A2) sold by the vendors is 23/32 inch wide before installation. After installation and closing, the width becomes .640 inch which is close to 5/8 inch. |
